Come meet City Councilor Nadeem Mazen and learn more about his efforts to push progressive politics in Massachusetts. Mazen burst onto Cambridge’s political stage in 2013, when voters elected him to the City Council. He became the first Muslim-American elected to office in the state of MA. His grass-roots campaign emphasized empowering the people and getting more minorities into politics. Especially in light of the post-election climate, Mazen will shed some light on the role of community organizing for more progressive social change. Event by the Harvard Kennedy School's Muslim Caucus
