In 1999, the Pluralism Project hosted two groundbreaking consultations on multireligious America, where for the first time, activists and representatives of diverse advocacy groups shared a common table. The second of these two meetings was a“Symposium on Civil Society and Multireligious America," which took a broad look at the issues of civil society.
