# Hindus Envision Sioux Falls Temple November 14, 2010 Author: Peter Harriman Source: The Argus Leader Several hundred men, women and children, many wearing colorful saris and similar Indian dress, gathered Saturday at Lincoln High School to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights commemorating the victory of Lord Rama over the demon Ravana. In this loose parallel to Christmas family gatherings, people conducted devotionals to Laxmi, goddess of good fortune, sat down to a nine-course dinner of traditional Indian food and enjoyed dancing and music.
