Franklin County's courthouse Nativity scene will stay in place this Christmas season, despite a complaint by the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Franklin County Commissioner Tom Wilson said he won't end the 50-year-old manger scene on the courthouse lawn until a court orders it. The life-size Nativity scene is owned by the town of Brookville and arranged around the flagpole by local firefighters.

"I'm not going to take it down until a judge hands me an order, and then I might," Wilson said. "It will definitely stay up through Christmas. Government works slow."
