The World Sikh Organization of Canada is moving to dispel misconceptions about the kirpan, a small ceremonial dagger worn by Sikhs, following an incident on Friday outside the Sikh Lehar Centre in Brampton where a man was stabbed with a kirpan. Sukhwant Singh was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after Manjit Mangat, 53, was punched in the face and stabbed at the centre.
